The Supreme Council selected 25 top undergraduate leaders to participate in an exclusive leadership-training program called the Inner Circle, which took place April 20-22, 2013, in Prince Frederick, Maryland. Past Eminent Supreme Archon Michael Scarborough hosted the event at his farm, and attendees had the chance to meet and learn from five distinguished alumni. The next Inner Circle is taking place this April 4-6, 2014.

The third DeVotie Ritual Institute took place November 8-9, 2013, at the Levere Memorial Temple. This unique event provided initiated, undergraduate brothers with the experience to learn about the Ritual of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and its application in both chapter and individual life.

The True Gentleman Day of Service, partnered with Global Youth Service Day, took place April 26-28, 2013. Last year, more than 100 groups participated. Their time resulted in approximately 15,000 man hours of service.

The SAE Amateur Golf Tournament took place May 16-18, 2013, in Pensacola, Florida, and the SAE World Series took place July 19-20, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Both events are sponsored and organized by the local alumni associations in those cities. In addition, these events have been part of our calendar for several decades.

The 157th Anniversary Convention met in Chicago, Illinois, from June 29-July 1, 2013. The iconic Hotel InterContinental Magnificent Mile served as the official convention property. More than 400 collegiate and alumni members attended the conclave. The 159th Anniversary Convention will be held in summer 2015 in Newport Beach, California.

The 78th John O. Moseley Leadership School took place August 5-9, 2013, on a Royal Caribbean cruise, which sailed the Caribbean and made a port of call for our delegates in Nassau, the Bahamas. We once again set record attendance, as nearly 800 delegates graduated from the school. The 79th School takes place August 4-8, 2014.  SAE ISU members, Nathan Walker and Mitch Monroe, attended this amazing event

Tidbits

To assist our collegiate members in their academic pursuits, the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation awarded more than $300,000 through its National and Chapter Education Fund academic and Leadership School scholarship programs. National scholarships may be awarded to any qualified brother from any chapter who applies for one of the more than 40 named scholarships. Chapter Education Fund scholarships, on the other hand, may only be awarded to qualified brothers from the fund’s designated chapter(s). For example, of the more than 725 undergraduate brothers who attended the 77th John O. Moseley Leadership School, 265, or 36.5 percent, received a Leadership School Tuition Scholarship from the Foundation. Without those funds, the delegates could not have attended. The Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation thanks the brothers and friends who make our scholarship program, perhaps one of the greatest Foundation programs, possible.
